“With Thanksgiving”
1 Thessalonians 5:12-22
One of the amazing blessings that God has bestowed on us is the creation of the church–the joining of the body of believers for the opportunity to live the life of faith together. But how is it possible to live this life together? Paul, in his letter to the Thessalonian church, expresses three defining traits that need to mark every believer to effectively live out the faith. I’m excited to join you all this Sunday before Thanksgiving as we unpack this passage together and take time to give thanks to God for who He is and all He does.

“Reunited”
Genesis 46:28-34
In last week’s message, we saw Joseph working through what must be one of the hardest aspects of life–forgiveness and reconciliation. As we come to the conclusion of our message series, “Faith in Times of Adversity,” we find Joseph finally having the opportunity to see his father Jacob face to face! But this event leads us to ask a question–even though we’ve forgiven and reconciled, are we simply to resume life like nothing ever happened? I look forward to unpacking how Biblical reconciliation leads to holy reunification.

“Reconciling Through the Hurt”
Genesis 42-44
Many sermons in my life have been about forgiveness. We hear things like “Let go and let God”, or “Vengeance is the Lord’s”. These statements are true, and forgiveness is a very important topic. The question we face this week is what happens after we forgive? The whole point of forgiveness is to be reconciled back to God and to each other. God promises us he will forgive our sins and remove them from us as far as the east is from the west. That is wonderful news! But we are not God and as humans we have a hard time letting go of the hurt, even when we have said we have forgiven someone. Join us this week as we dive into the topic of reconciliation and how Joseph was able to overcome such massive hurt that was inflicted on him from his brothers.

“Godly Integrity”
Genesis 41:37-57
What does it mean to be a person of integrity? The dictionary defines integrity as, “the state of being whole and undivided; being honest and having strong moral principles and uprightness.” Throughout each week of our message series, “Faith in Times of Adversity,” Joseph displayed Godly Integrity in many ways. As we come to our passage for this week, we find that God is on the move–the question for us is how did Joseph display Godly Integrity as he led Egypt and even the world through one of the greatest trials of their lives? And how can we live out our faith in Jesus from a place of Godly Integrity?
